A Matter of Perception

There is a common misconception with the word of motivation. People think that they need motivation from an outside source. Motivation isn’t something that you find outside of yourself. Humans have a tremendous capability for desire and motivation, but it all comes from inside. When you feel motivated because of something you heard or read that source isn’t giving you motivation, it is inspiring you.

Inspiration is what people now a days are commonly referring to as motivation. motivation comes from within oneself that only they can use for a dream they are passionate about. Motivation has no limitations but by your own mind. I for one am motivated for any and all things on some level or another. That level may be so low that I would never do certain things, but the principal still stands.

I don’t want to murder anyone. On the other hand, there is an untapped motivation to murder someone. All that would dictate if I would do so or not is if I get inspired enough to indulge in my motivation. If someone was threatening the ones that I love or my own life by threat of death, then could I see myself being inspired enough to carry out the act.

You see inspiration is just fuel for motivation. All people on all levels are motivated on any caliber for any activity or thought. The only thing that is keeping them from something as heart wrenching as murder to as simple as getting off the couch and going for a run is a matter of inspiration. The people that sit on the couch have thought in the back of their minds, “hey, maybe I should go for a run” at least one time or another. This proves what I am establishing.

That is why I think motivational speakers have the worst title in the world. They should be called inspirers! They should be the ones who can reach into a person’s mind heart and soul and tap that known or unknown motivation that is within every person and light it ablaze with stories and powerful words.

To truly inspire one to take action is a work of art and it is a beautiful part of humanity. To tap the motivation that everyone has within them you must enter into the conversation that they are speaking into their own head and show them the benefit of acting on their motivation to do so. That is how marketing is done (or at least how it should be done).

Motivation is within us and can take us to great lengths. Finding the right inspiration to ignite certain flames in yourself is the tricky part. That is why it is so important to surround yourself with positivity in this broken world. People have a desire to be inspired by what is around us. When the only thing to inspire us are the negative things around us, we will be motivated to do negative things. So, surround yourself with positivity and growth and be inspired to do good for yourself and for the world around you.
